ABOUT US
The CPC is a collaborative mix of local community businesses, organizations and individuals, concerned about creating a healthy environment for all of Woodstock. We are a parent / community partnership working together to influence and strengthen the positive development of the young people in our community.
HISTORY
The CPC was established in 2002, when
Woodstock
Community
Unit
School District
200 and the Community Connections for Youth was awarded the Drug Free Community Support Grant.
One of the grant guidelines was to identify local resources whose mission statements or activities would support the coalition's goals. As of 2006, the partnership has expanded to over 70 members who come from different agencies and businesses, churches and organizations, as well as individuals, including youth.
OUR GOALS:
1. To reduce substance use and abuse among
Woodstock
youth.
2. Increase protective factors that will reduce substance abuse among youth in
Woodstock.
3. To strengthen collaboration within all components of the community in order to prevent and reduce substance abuse among youth.
